The hands behind the labels

We could tell you about how our labels are ethically made. To be honest we do, every day we promote how we only stock Australian owned labels, that they are ethically made by providing living wages, ethical employment and fair work conditions for their manufacturers.
We decided we would just show you some behind the scenes of the manufacturing process.
An image truly is worth a thousand words.
The Travelling Kimono collection being lovingly made by home seamstresses in Vietnam. The Travelling Kimono pride themselves on having a healthy two way working relationship with the ladies who make their clothes. The home seamstresses are guaranteed and provided with fair work conditions and living wages, supporting their quality of life.
The finishing touches being put on a, made to order, Tasi Travels piece which is made right here on the Sunshine Coast Australia.
The team behind The Travelling Kimono, designers and owners Janelle and Tara frequently visit and work along side their home seamstresses who have become an integral part of their team.
All aspects of collections are hand made and a lot are made to order ensuring no "fast fashion" and limited wastage.

You won't find collections created in sweatshops, production lines, fast fashion, child and slave labour, unsafe factories ever in our Boutique. What you will find is people being supported and earning a living in respectful ways.
